Ahmarnya Price is a visual artist and performance maker. She draws, paints, animates, writes, directs, teaches and performs. Since 1999 she has exhibited throughout Australia, Europe and Asia. She was awarded the 2002 'Noma Concours (Unesco) Picture Book Prize'. Her exhibition Just Me and Yoko Ono won a 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival award. Recent collaborations include Back to Back Theatre, Metro Arts, Battersea Arts Centre (UK), Footscray Community Arts Centre (FCAC), Rawcus, St Martins Youth Theatre, Christine Johnston and Leisa Shelton. During 2009 she established performance ensemble The Chaotic Order at FCAC. Their show The Waiting Place won Melbourne Fringe Festival's 2011 'Best Original Australian Work'. After completing postgraduate studies in Performance Creation at VCA she received the 2013/14 VCA Professional Pathways Scholarship for her project, RUMPUS, to take part in Battersea Arts Centre's residency program. RUMPUS debuted at FCAC as part of FOLA in March 2016. Currently Ahmarnya runs CONGRESS, an 'experimental think tank' at St Martins Youth Theatre, working with young people as cultural delegates in preparation for world domination!!!!!
